So about 2 months ago I went to Shanghai, Wanting to capture Shanghai in a new light I decided that 'shooting from the hip' A technique that i gained from college would give me the desired effect that I wanted. For this i wanted to capture Shanghai for what it really is, rather than the modernisation i wanted to look down the grubby backstreets to see what i could find, and here is my results.

As well as this i also created a book on my time in shanghai, which gives a much more in depth view into Shanghai which can be found here:

Gambia

GAMBIA.

So, I went to Gambia well over a year ago, And i think its time i actually posted the pictures up, Seeing as i never actually did! We went over to help schools over there, Taking supplies and visiting various villages and schools and communities over a two week period.
The first thing you noticed about Gambia was the heat. We left England in about 6 oc? I think? And when we arrived in Gambia it was 31 oc. Crazy! Anyways, While I was there i wanted to document the people there as much as possible, as for at the time i knew that i was certain i wanted to photograph people but i wasn't sure in what context, So this was a perfect opportunity to do some portrait work!
Much to my delight, The people of the Gambia (Children especially) had pretty much never seen a camera before so they loved being in front of us. Completely fascinated with being able to see the image on the playback option. It was a whole new world to them! So using this to my advantage i decided to document these beauties!

As well as this, I documented other parts of Gambia also, The lifestyle and culture. It was unbelievable how peaceful and laid back the culture actually is!

Hope you've enjoyed!
